Dallas Cowboys Summary
The NFL has a few legendary football teams and the Dallas Cowboys are one of them. 1960 was the first year the Cowboys began planing in the NFL and have had a rich winning history ever since. Dallas has successfully won several NFL playoff games including an astounding five Super Bowls, the first of which came in 1971. Their other Super Bowl victories came in 1977, 1992, 1993, and 1995.
Today, the Dallas Cowboys play each of their home games at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX. This is considered to be one of the most incredible arenas in the United States including a huge HDTV display and a retractable roof (the cost to build this stadium was extremely pricey). The stadium even has a wing dedicated to the Cowboys Hall of Fame. The Dallas Cowboys started playing home games in Dallas Cobows Stadium in September of 2009. Dallas Cowboys Stadium is one of the crowing achievements of owner, Jerry Jones.
The Dallas Cowboys play in the NFC East Division. Considered by many to be the most difficult and popular division in the NFL, the Cowboys always have a tough road to make the NFL playoffs. The teams and rivals for the Cowboys in this division include the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, and Philadelphia Eagles. This division has seen its fair share of star power over the years, but the Cowboys have probably the most prominent list. Famous Cowboys include Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, and now Tony Romo.

2012 Dallas Cowboys Season Preview
In 2011, the Dallas Cowboys found themselves playing basically a one game playoff with the New York Giants in Week 17. The Cowboys had to win that game to make it to the playoffs. The game was in New York. The game stayed pretty close until the 4th quarter when the New York Giants pulled away for good. Appropriately the Cowboys season officially ended on a Tony Romo sack and fumble. Turnovers were a problem for Tony Romo all season.
Coach Jason Garrett is very optimistic that he will be able to lead the Cowboys to the NFL playoffs this season. With added pressure from owner Jerry Jones (who was quoted to say that this Cowboys team's "window is closing"), this will be a make or break season for Tony Romo and Jason Garrett. Another disappointing season could spell the end of this regime and the Cowboys could suddenly switch to rebuilding mode.
There has already been some turbulence for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason as talented Wide Receiver Dez Bryant was arrested for allegedly punching his own mother. While the Cowboys collectively have given Dez the benefit of the doubt, there is no question that one more incident could lead Jerry Jones to sever ties with the young, troubled player.
Defense was possiby the Cowboys biggest problem in 2011, as they troubled to get stops at the end of games. Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan could be on the hot seat after a disapointing Cowboys performance last season. Rob Ryan is known for his loud mouth and aggressive defensive schemes, but this is put up or shut up time for the Cowboys defense. There is no excuse for them to struggle with stars Demarcus Ware and Sean Lee leading the charge.
